Getting to the Expo
VALLEY METRO LIGHT RAIL:
Light rail is the fastest, most hassle free and most economical way to travel throughout race week. Visit the Valley Metro booth in the Expo to plan your race day route or visit their website at valleymetro.org. Transit passengers are required to pay a fare, including all marathon participants. An All-Day pass is $4.00 and can be purchased in advance at a rail station fare vending machine or retail locations listed at valleymetro.org.
TO THE EXPO: Take Valley Metro Rail to the 3rd Street/Washington (westbound) or 3rd Street/Jefferson (eastbound) stations
PARKING AT THE EXPO: Numerous parking garages ($10 – $12 per day) are within walking distance of the Expo, and limited street parking is available. The Convention Parking East Garage is the largest parking structure nearby, and is located just west of 7th Street off Washington.

PARKING AT THE HALF START: Parking is free for half marathon participants at the following lots:
- ASU Fulton Center Parking Garages – College Avenue & 7th Street
From 202: Exit Scottsdale Road/Rural Road and head south. Turn right on 6th Street. Turn right on Veterans Way. Turn left on College Avenue to the Fulton Center Parking Garage.
- ASU Lot 20 – University Drive & Mill Avenue
From I-10: Use Exit 153 for AZ-143. Use Exit 2 for University Drive. Turn right on University Drive. Turn right on Mill Avenue and left into the surface lot.
- ASU Rural Road Garage – Rural Road & Lemon Street
From 60: Use the exit for Rural Road and head north. Turn left into the Rural Road Garage after crossing Lemon Street.
- ASU Apache Boulevard Garage – Apache Boulevard & Normal Avenue
From 60: Use the exit for Rural Road and head north. Turn left onto Apache Boulevard. Turn right onto Normal Avenue and left into the garage.
- ASU Lot 55 – University Drive & Athletes Place – *Before 7:30 am Only
From 202: Exit Scottsdale Road/Rural Road and head south. Turn left onto University Drive and left into the surface lot after Athletes Place.
PARKING AT THE MARATHON START: The Arizona Center is providing free parking for the first 2,000 full marathon participants on race day. To return to this lot, participants will need to purchase a Light Rail ticket and get off at the 3rd Street/Washington station.
From I-10 West: Use Exit 145A for 7th Street. Keep left at the fork to 7th Street. Turn right on Van Buren Street. Turn right on 5th Street and access to the garage will be on your left.
From I-10 East: Use Exit 145 for 7th Street. Keep right at the fork to 7th Street. Turn right on Portland Street and then left onto 3rd Street. Turn left on Fillmore Street and access to the garage will be on your right.
Valley Metro Rail will operate a Sunday schedule with trains running every 20 minutes to connect full and half-marathoners to the race start locations in downtown Phoenix and Tempe. Additional trains will be used to support demand prior to the start of the races and following the finish of the races.
