Get an up-close look at giant pandas at Dujiangyan Giant Panda Center. The 126 acre research and breeding center provides a natural environment for the endangered pandas with a vast bamboo forest and lovely scenic surroundings. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon course runs by the center.
The Dujiangyan irrigation system was originally constructed in 256 BC as a water conservation and flood control project. The system harnessed the river using a new method of channeling and dividing the water instead of using a dam. It is still in use today. The Marathon starts and finishes in Dujiangyan.
