Blues Traveler will “Run-Around” at Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll Dallas Post-Race Concert

  • Band to perform ‘90s hits at finish line festival celebration on Sunday, March 20
  • New half marathon course will highlight Dallas’ unique and beautiful neighborhoods


GRAMMY award-winning band, Blues Traveler will headline the post-race Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Concert Series at the 7th annual Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll Dallas Half Marathon on Sunday, March 20, 2016. Blues Traveler will perform for thousands of runners and spectators at the finish line festival in downtown Dallas. The concert is free and open to the public.

“We are thrilled to have Blues Traveler headline our post-race concert,” said Megan Miller, Event Director. “They will be an epic finale to race weekend and a great way to celebrate a half marathon accomplishment. Online registration is open and there is still time to train and run in Dallas 2016.”

Blues Traveler first came together as high school students in Princeton, New Jersey in the 1980s. The band is best known for their GRAMMY award-winning single, “Run-Around” and “Hook.” They have released 12 albums, including the Platinum and Billboard chart-topper Straight on till Morning and most recently Blow up the Moon, which features collaborations with artists such as, Jewel and Plain White T’s.

Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll Dallas has unveiled a new course for 2016, which will start at Young Street and Lamar Street and finish at The Lawn at Reunion. The half marathon will take runners on a tour of downtown including; Deep Ellum, Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, The Bishop Arts District and Houston Street Bridge where participants will get a firsthand look at the Dallas skyline.

Local bands will play through the streets of Dallas, along with spectators and cheerleading teams lining the route to motivate runners to the finish line. Upon finishing, participants are invited to relax and celebrate with family and friends at the finish line festival.

The event will feature two-days of running with the Rock ‘n’ Roll 5K on Saturday in Fair Park. Participants can take the “Remix Challenge” by running both Saturday and Sunday to earn the coveted Remix Challenge medal in addition to each race’s finisher medals.

Race weekend kicks off with a free Health & Fitness Expo, where runners can find numerous vendors, showcasing the latest in running gear, sports apparel and health and nutritional information. The Expo takes place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center on Friday, March 18 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, March 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Expo is free and open to the public.
