Texas resident to perform hits at finish line festival celebration on Sunday, March 19
Texas based, Bob Schneider will headline the post race Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Concert Series at the 8th annual Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll Dallas Half Marathon on Sunday, March 19, 2017. Bob Schneider will perform for thousands of runners and spectators at the finish line festival in downtown Dallas. The concert is free and open to the public.
“Bob Schneider will be a great addition to our finish line festival and a great way to celebrate that 13.1 mile accomplishment,” said Madora Mak, Event Manager. “We are ready to rock Dallas in 2017 and look forward to putting on another world class event. There is still plenty of time to register and fulfill those New Year’s resolutions so grab your running shoes, start a training program and we hope to see you in Dallas.”
Bob Schneider has released multiple albums including, Lonelyland, which featured the popular single “Big Blue Sea” and has won numerous Austin Music Awards for both Band of the Year and Songwriter of the Year. In the beginning of his career he played in the bands Ugly Americans and The Scabs, among others, before going solo in 1999. Schneider currently lives in Austin, Texas.
Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll Dallas will take off from Young Street and Lamar Street (near the Omni Dallas Hotel) and will take runners on a tour of downtown including; Deep Ellum, Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, The Bishop Arts District and Houston Street Bridge where participants will get a firsthand look at the Dallas skyline. The course will once again finish at The Lawn at Reunion.
Local bands will play through the streets of Dallas, along with spectators and cheerleading teams lining the route to motivate runners to the finish line. Upon finishing, participants are invited to relax and celebrate with family and friends at the finish line festival and post race concert.
The event will feature two days of running with the Rock ‘n’ Roll 5K on Saturday in Fair Park. Participants can take the “Remix Challenge” by running both Saturday and Sunday to earn the coveted Remix Challenge medal in addition to each race’s finisher medals.
Race weekend kicks off with a free Health & Fitness Expo, where runners can find numerous vendors, showcasing the latest in running gear, sports apparel and health and nutritional information. The Expo takes place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, Hall B on Friday, March 17 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, March 18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Expo is free and open to the public.
