Getting to the SportExpo

The Sport Expo is within easy walking distance from both the Lisboa – Oriente Train Station and Oriente Metro Stop.

Please note: ALL runners must pick up their bib numbers and race packets at the Expo. There is absolutely no race day pickup, even in emergencies, so plan your trip accordingly.

The Sport Expo is held for three days at the Parque das Nações C0nvention Center.

The Marathon and Half Marathon/Mini have different start areas.

Marathon Start: 8:30 am. Cascais, Portual
Start line: Cascais Hippodrome

By Train:  The best option for Marathon athletes get to the starting line (Cascais) is via the the CP trains, which depart from any station on the Cascais Line 

(See Timetables – Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays) and arrive at the Cascais terminal station. The trains are free for runners wearing their bib numbers. Additional trains are added on race day Lisboa – Cais do Sodré Train Station at 6:40 AM and 6:50 AM.

Important: There is no Metro line that goes to Cascais.  And the Metro from Oriente does not open in time to reach the Lisboa-Cais do Sodre Train Station in time reach the start line.

Runners should plan to arrive to the starting area by 7:30. There will be baggage check available only to Marathon runners. You must use the bag from the race kit given to you when you pick up your bib number at SportExpo.

Getting to the Half Marathon and Mini Start

The Half Marathon and Mini Marathon start on the Vasco da Gama Bridge.  All participants must take a free shuttle to the start on the bridge. There is no other way to race start line.

FREE Shuttles leave from outside the Oriente Metro and Train Station. 7:30-900am

Half Marathon Start: 10:30am
Mini Marathon Start:  10:35am

Reach via free shuttle from Oriente Station located near Parque das Nações area

Oriente Metro Stop and Train Station, on the red metro line. You can reach Lisbon via the CP trains or CARRIS and TST buses, which are free for runners carrying their bibs.
