In accordance with Decree 0619 of December 20th, 2017 of the Government Area of Environment and Mobility of the Madrid City Council, which establishes measures to limit access and reorder of motor vehicles in the Buen Retiro gardens, and in order to help in the conservation of a good of cultural interest for the city of Madrid, the Edp Rock ‘n’ Roll Madrid Marathon & ½ will modify the location of the finish line area for the 2018 edition. As a consequence, there will also be changes in the start line area and the course.

After analyzing and considering all possible alternatives during the meeting held with all the city departments involved in the organization of the event, the decission has been reached to relocate these zones, as we believe it is the option that best allows for  both proper attention and services for the runners to maintain their high standards of quality.

With the objective of maintaining the emblematic character that has come to define the event over the history of its 41 editions, and the goal of continuing to offer a unique sporting experience through the most beautiful streets of our capital, it has been decided that the location of the finish line will be at the Paseo del Prado, alongside the Prado Museum, very close to the prior location at Retiro Park.

In addition, the starting line will be situated in Paseo de la Castellana, on the corner of Ortega y Gasset street for the Marathon & Half Marathon, and between Gregorio Marañon and Emilio Castelar Squares for the 10K.

The course has also been slightly altered as a result of the aforementioned changes. Taking advantage of this, we have tried to establish a more favorable elevation chart for runners.

We would like to pass on our apologies for the changes that we’ve been obligated to make with only 8 weeks remaining before the event on April 22nd, 2018.

Here is the updated course for the event. If there remain any questions or concerns , you can contact us at
