Check out the exclusive tour of Music City we are offering at the 2018 St. Jude Rock ‘n’ Roll Nashville Marathon & 1/2 Marathon! We listened to feedback and made some key improvements to ensure a great race day experience for you as you hit the streets of Music City. We are excited to provide an improved start line experience for all distances and highlight some of Nashville’s most iconic sights and neighborhoods along the course for your 3.1, 13.1 or 26.2 mile tour of our favorite southern city. While the course highlights and entertainment guarantee a great experience, don’t forget one key element as you train – Nashville’s beauty can’t be experienced without some hills along the way. Make sure to incorporate hill training as you prepare for your race day experience.
Check out the course maps here and read all of the course details below to get ready for your best race yet. We are still working on the 1 Mile course which will be announced soon. We look forward to seeing you in April!
Marathon & Half Marathon Courses
You’ve committed to running 13.1 or 26.2 miles with us in April – congrats in advance on the amazing accomplishment! In exchange for your hard work, we want to offer the best race day experience yet. The start line experience will be much smoother on race morning. The 5K, marathon & ½ marathon courses will no longer come back on Broadway to run along the corrals for the Marathon & ½ Marathon, so you will be able to enter your start corrals from both sides of the street and congestion at the start will be significantly less than past years. After passing the famous Honky Tonk Bars on Broadway as you start the race, you will cruise past the Country Music Hall of Fame and Music City Center. With the removal of the early turn off Demonbreun Street from last year’s course, you will have more road width and less turns as you start, allowing you to catch your stride and get on pace early in the race.
While we made some key improvements to the start, we kept some of the best highlights on course, including tours through Music Row, Belmont University and The Gulch. Both courses will continue to run through lively Belmont/Hillsboro and 12 South neighborhoods where the community will be out early to celebrate and cheer you on as you run through their personal block parties.
New in 2018 the Half Marathon course will run through beautiful Bicentennial State Park before ending with an epic view as you cross the Woodland Street bridge into your finish at Nissan Stadium.
The Marathon course will offer some additional highlights as your 26.2 mile tour will continue through historic Germantown, MetroCenter where you will experience a Mile of Music, fun and funky East Nashville, and beautiful Shelby Park. Don’t forget the top highlight of the Marathon course – an exclusive opportunity to run on the field at First Tennessee Park!
You will end your awesome accomplishment at Nissan Stadium where you will join the party with a complimentary Michelob ULTRA, food from local food trucks and our Finish Line Festival concert.
We know you’re going to have a blast on race day and we want to be part of the fun. All of the necessary race morning elements will be offered to 5K participants for your separate start from the Marathon & ½ Marathon next to the iconic Nashville Music City Center. With the removal of an early turn from last year’s course, you will have more road width and less turns as you start, allowing you to catch your stride and get on pace early in the race. New in 2018, the 5K will run through beautiful Bicentennial State Park, ending with an epic view of Nashville as you cross the Woodland Street bridge into your finish at Nissan Stadium. Then it’s time to join the party with your complimentary Michelob ULTRA, food from local food trucks and our Finish Line Festival concert.
