New Orleans, LA – In 2016, the Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll New Orleans Marathon & ½ Marathon is set to have a double headliner at the finish line festival concert on Sunday, February 28 in City Park.  Local favorite Preservation Hall Jazz Band will be rocking the Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Concert Series followed by Virginia-based group, J. Roddy Walston & the Business.  In addition to the two headliners, local bands and live musicians will be stationed along the course to entertain runners as they make their way to the finish line.
“This year’s headliners are going to give us a great mix of authentic New Orleans jazz and soulful rock ‘n’ roll,” said Keli Kadota, entertainment manager, Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series.  “Preservation Hall Jazz Band has been established in New Orleans for a long time and has a rich history here, and we also have J. Roddy Walston & The Business who are sure to amplify the celebration with their performance.”

The second headliner, J. Roddy Walston & The Business were formed in 2002 in Cleveland, Tenn. by bandleader J. Roddy Walston.  This band refuses to play it safe, writing music with a punk spirit that honors their southern roots through their storytelling and language.  “Heavy Bells” has been their biggest hit peaking at 13 on the U.S. Alternative Songs chart.

Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll New Orleans Marathon returns this year with more than 15,000 runners participating 10K, half-marathon and marathon races.  Participants will run along the mansion-lined St. Charles Avenue, through the French Quarter, and then head down Esplanade Avenue before finishing in City Park. Headliners, Preservation Hall Jazz Band and J. Roddy Walston & The Business, will be playing at the finish line festival.
