NEW ORLEANS, LA – Start the New Year off by committing to the 2016 Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll New Orleans Marathon & ½ Marathon on February 28. Registration prices for the annual race are set to increase on January 1, 2016.

“Today is the perfect day to register as people are setting goals and making resolutions for 2016,” said Luke Wright, Event Coordinator. “We’re bringing back the 10 kilometer distance for a second year which is a great option for people who are just starting to train.”

Free marathon, half-marathon and 10k training plans are available online.

The event concludes with a dual headliner concert and finish line festival in City Park..  Local favorite Preservation Hall Jazz Band will be rocking the post-race Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Concert Series followed by Virginia-based group, J. Roddy Walston & the Business. In addition to the two headliners, local bands and live musicians will be stationed along the course to entertain runners as they make their way to the finish line.

The Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll New Orleans Marathon returns in 2016 with 10K and half-marathon distances. Participants will run along the mansion-lined St. Charles Avenue, through the French Quarter, and then head down Esplanade Avenue before finishing in City Park.

Event weekend kicks off with a two-day Health & Fitness Expo at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center featuring more than 60 vendors with the latest in running gear, nutrition and training tips. The expo is free and open to the public.

Runners are encouraged to give meaning to their miles by registering as a St. Jude Hero.  By fundraising for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, participants will receive guaranteed free race entry and other benefits such as catered food and beverage and private gear check.  Additional benefits may include free airfare and hotel accommodations.

Prices for the race are currently set at $115 for the marathon, $105 for the half-marathon, and $45 for the 10K.  To register, go to before midnight December 31.
