Cameron was found to suffer from acute lymphoblastic leukemia in July 2014. Her family turned to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, where she started two-and-a-half years of chemotherapy. “Cameron’s whole team, her doctor, her nurses and Child Life, they’re all just amazing,” said her mom. “Cameron’s treatment hasn’t always been text book, but the staff has been there every step of the way.” St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90%, by 2020. We won’t stop until no child dies from cancer. Cameron’s cancer is in remission. She’s able to do the majority of her treatment at home in Louisiana, and visits St. Jude monthly. Cameron’s mom describes her as a girly girl: She likes playing with her friends, getting her nails painted and taking ballet, and she loves the Disney princesses. Cameron is in second grade.
