In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-October 15), we would like to honor and recognize all Hispanic American runners who strengthen the fabric of the endurance running community.
We have highlighted four Hispanic American running elites who have ROCKED our Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series events.
Mexican-American Fernando Cabada Jr.
He is a 2016 US Olympic Team Trials Qualifier and set a course record at the 2015 Rock ‘n’ Roll San Francisco Half Marathon and has participated in 5+ Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon events.
Mexican-American Zoila Gomez
She finished fourth at the 2008 Olympic Team Trials. She also won the 2015 Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon and finished second in the 2015 Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon.
Mexican-American Leo Manzano
He was an Olympic silver medalist at the 2012 London Olympic Games and competed at the 2013 Carlsbad 5000.
Mexican-American Brenda Martinez
She was a bronze medalist in the 800-meter final at the 2013 World Championships in Moscow. She also competed four years in a row at the Carlsbad 5000 with her personal best at the 2014 Carlsbad 5000.
