Public Transportation: SEPTA

Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, SEPTA, provides train service between Center City and the Airport on the Airport Regional Rail Line. Trains run every 30 minutes and operate from 4:20 am to 11:40 pm (Center City to Airport) and from 5:07 am to 12:30 am (Airport to Center City).

Stations on the Airport Regional Rail Line include Terminal E/F, Terminal C/D, Terminal B, Terminal A (East), Eastwick, University City, 30th Street, and three Center City stations along Market Street. All stations on the Airport Line are wheelchair accessible.

Connections to other SEPTA Regional Rail lines and transit routes can be made at University City, 30th Street, Suburban and Jefferson Stations.

The one-way, on-board, cash only Regional Rail fare to Center City is $8.00; or $9.00 to any other station beyond Center City. Tell the conductor your final destination when purchasing tickets on-board.

Connections to Amtrak Northeast Corridor and Keystone Service and NJ Transit Atlantic City Rail Line can be made at 30th Street Station.

The Airport is also served by three SEPTA bus routes at Zone 1 of the Arrivals Road outside of baggage claim: Route 37 to/from South Philadelphia and Chester, Pa.; Route 108 to/from 69th Street Transportation Center; Route 115 to/from Suburban Square in Ardmore.

The single-ride transit fare is $2.25 and transfers are available on-board buses for an additional $1.00.

Rental Cars

Rental car companies may be contacted through the Ground Transportation Information desks located in Baggage Claims A-East, B/C and D/E.

Taxi, limousine and shuttle services are available at Terminals A-East, B-C, D/E baggage claim areas. Terminal F ground transportation is accessible outside Terminal E baggage claim.

Taxi & Ride Sharing

Taxi Services

Taxicabs are readily available and provide service to the Philadelphia metro area and surrounding counties. Check with your taxicab company of choice for more information on fares and destinations served.

Taxicabs can be accessed at Zone 5 on the Commercial Transportation Roadway.

Flat Rate Charges

There is a $28.50 flat-rate charge (one-way fare, airport access fee already included) to travel to Center City Philadelphia.  This area encompasses: Fairmount Ave (North), South Street (South) Delaware River (East) and University City/ 38th Street (West). Any destination that falls within these boundaries is eligible for the Center City flat rate.

An additional $1.00 per passenger ($3.00 maximum) after the first passenger will be charged on flat rate trips between the Airport and Center City for passengers over age 12.

Metered Taxicab Rates

Fares to all other metro area destinations are based on the taxicab’s meter, which upon entry is $2.70 and $2.30 per mile or portion thereof.  There is a $10 minimum fare from the Airport to any destination.

Sedan, Limousine Services and Shared Ride Van

To reserve a ride to your destination, please visit the Ground Transportation Information desk located in each baggage claim area. As soon as you have retrieved your luggage, the Ground Transportation Information representative will contact an authorized transportation service provider for you and alert you once your ride arrives.

Sedan and Limousine services can be accessed at Zone 6 and Shared ride van services can be accessed at Zone 7 on the Commercial Transportation Roadway.
