As runners, we’ve already done all the homework for your visit to St. Louis so you can come prepared to taste best of the Gateway of the West. Here are the top recommendations from staff and local race ambassadors to help you make a swift decision when you’re tired and just plain ol’ Rungry!

For the Foodie…

Bailey’s Range
Price Range: $$
For an out-of-this world burger you must stop by Bailey’s Range. Select from a wide variety of burgers like the Sweet Hot – An incredible combination of Maple Lamb, Chipotle Chevre and crushed pecans. The only way you can improve on this meal is by pairing it with a local beer or an amazing home-made milk shake.

Located in Forest Park, Boathouse serves up family-friendly American cuisine and a great water-front ambiance. Patrons can dine on the outdoor patio dog in tow, rent paddleboats or take a romantic stroll around the lake.

Farmhaus in South City  is dedicated to supporting local farm, organic food production and sustainable agriculture. Their menu changes daily based on the freshest ingredients available, so you’ll always be in for a surprise. Be sure to make a reservation because they fill up quickly!

Fitz’s American Grill
Price Range: $$
Carbo-load at Fitz’s on Delmar in University City. World famous for their draft root beers, sodas and burgers, they’re also a bottling company that bottles their own brews. Watch the bottling line from your table as you enjoy sip on this refreshing American tradition. 

Onesto Pizza & Tratoria

Located in South City, Onesto is another Italian favorite offering specialty pizza and farm fresh fare.

Rooster’s Cafe
Price Range: $$
Looking for that perfect breakfast or brunch location downtown? Rooster’s Cafe is the place. We recommend the Rooster Slinger or a dessert crepe post race! 

Sweetie Pie’s

If you’ve ever watched the show Welcome to Sweetie Pies on the O Network, you know Soul Food and Comfort Food are the main courses on the menu.

Ted Drewes

While milk shakes and ice cream are favorite post race treats, no stop in St. Louisis complete without Ted Drewes’ Frozen Custard located off the world famous old Route 66.

Chef Cary McDowell brings his style to life at Winslow’s Home. Located on Delmar in University City, you will find both an incredible dining experience as well as a general store.

Anheuser-Busch Brewery Tours

Go back to school…Beer School that is! Get an in-depth look at how some of America’s favorite beers like Michelob Ultra (our series sponsor) and Budweiser are crafted as you explore the oldest and largest Anheuser-Busch Brewery.
