My name is Naju Madra. I’ve battled ulcerative colitis on and off since I was 15 years old. I’m now 34, married, and have two little ones. Since I was diagnosed, I’ve fought countless flare-ups and frustrations. About 3 years ago, I joined Team Challenge San Diego and I haven’t looked back since! I initially joined this group to feel more in control of my disease while helping to educate others and spread awareness about Crohn’s and Colitis. What I get out of the program, though, is so much more.
Team Challenge is an amazing training program that is designed to set you up for success. There hasn’t been a day that’s gone by since I joined where I don’t feel like I’m making a difference within myself and among the other 1.4 million people trying to find a cure. Raising funds for critical research has taught me that fundraising isn’t really about money at all, but about the people fighting this disease who are waiting, hoping, and truly believing that one day there WILL be a better cure out there!
It’s so evident how this mission is at the heart of every penny we raise and every mile we run. The coaches, mentors, and friendships we make along the way have been more than inspiring. It’s just really comforting to know that there’s always someone literally running by your side from the very first mile and penny fundraised all the way to the finish line. Who are we? Team Challenge San Diego!
