My mantra/quote is “A year from now, you will wish you had started TODAY.” I have lost a total of 50 pounds through fitness and healthy eating and feel as though my life has finally clicked into a great groove! I’m living the fit life that I always wished I could!
Why do you run?
I run for many reasons – to stay in shape and feel great, and maintain my weight loss. To reach for an conquer new goals. To push my limits. Also for the community, the friends I’ve made, the inspiration from others. And to be a great, healthy example to my children.
Favorite place to run:
My favorite place is the huge soccerplex near my house. It’s a few miles to run there and a few miles back, and I can get whatever mileage I need inside the park. It has hills, nice, friendly people, great scenery – everything you need for a good run! Otherwise I enjoy running in DC – I work downtown and love the beauty of the city.
Running gear you can not live without:
My GPS watch! I’m addicted to knowing my pace, mileage, and the data.
When not running where would we find you?
Wrangling three small children, or at work in a meeting. Or maybe traveling the world. Running is my sanity time!
Favorite post race fuel:
If I want to indulge, I love a big cheeseburger. But immediately after a race? I need a banana ASAP!
Song you want to hear at the finish line:
It’s probably too cliche to say “Chariots of Fire”, so let’s go with “Best Day of My Life” since that’s what it feels like crossing the finish line!
