I’m a marathon mom on the run just trying to find an easy through it all. I enjoy the journey and take it all in stride.
Why do you run?
I’m fairly new to running. I became a runner in 2007 when a friend taught me how to run. Once she explained basics to find my own pace, it soon unleashed a new side to myself and running became my passion. It’s my go-to fitness. It’s my stress relief and my ultimate me time, which is so necessary for a mom of three kids (ages 13, 9, 4). I love that my love of running has inspired my children to follow in my footsteps.
Favorite place to run:
Living in Florida, there are so many great places to run. I love running on shady trails or along the beach listening to the waves crash on the shore. Honestly, I love running anywhere outdoors and being one with nature.
Running gear you can not live without:
I absolute need my Garmin because I like to watch my pace and my distance. I also need running capris or shorts with pockets. Pockets are a must for gels and snacks when you are training for long run.
When not running where would we find you?
When I’m not running, I’m riding my road bike or lifting weights at the gym. If it’s a rest day, I’m volunteering at my kids’ school.
Favorite post race fuel:
I love chocolate for a quick protein recovery after a long. Coconut water is another favorite post-run fuel to replenish electrolytes.
