So many! Right now one that has been on my mind lately is this one: “Marathon training is practice at not quitting.” I have no idea where I read it, but it rings true for me and I love it.
Why do you run?
I love running and really cannot imagine my life without it. It is a part of who I am. Running reminds me that I am capable of anything I set my mind and heart to. It helps me let go of stresses and connects me to my inner strength. Running keeps me balanced and happy, and helps keep me calm and patient with my kids and energetic for our busy life! It reminds me to keep putting one foot in front of the other when things feel hard. It keeps me healthy and fit. I just love it for so many reasons!
Favorite place to run:
At home! I am so blessed and lucky to have the most amazing running trail steps from my home in Reston, VA. It is ever changing yet always stays the same. I am so grateful to have it.
Running gear you can not live without:
My Saucony shoes! The Kinvara 5s are my favorite.
When not running where would we find you?
With my family – I am married and have three young kids (ages 9, 8 and 3) – doing any number of things! It is a busy household 🙂 I also am a Pilates teacher and you will find me at the studio quite a lot!
Favorite post race fuel:
I love a giant, loaded salad from Chipotle with tons of salty chips and heaps of guacamole…and a cold beer!
