When it comes to training, I like thinking “the decision has already been made”, so that when I have to wake up at 5:30am I know that I’ve got to get up! While running, I like thinking “you’re stronger than you think”. I’m always right!
Why do you run?
It’s a form of therapy for me. I like the way it clears my head mostly, and gives me a sense of piece and quiet. I run early, and love watching the sun rise. I find running is more than just fitness, it’s a way to get to know yourself, a way to connect with nature and a way to genuinely feel good about something. I could go on and on.
Favorite place to run:
Ever? Definitely the Rideau Canal in Ottawa, ON, Canada. Now? The park around my apartment (Parc Maisonneuve).
Running gear you can not live without:
Gels, hydration pack, a wind breaker, and some solid mittens!
When not running where would we find you?
In the kitchen. I’m a food blogger and am constantly cooking up something delicious.
Favorite post race fuel:
A smoothie, a protein bar, or a giant salad jam packed with good stuff. I don’t have a “staple” per say, I like to switch things up.
