I always tell people to “Treat your training like a really fun job and make sure you show up!” It works well for me. I wouldnt skip or be late to work, so treat training the same way.
Why do you run?
I honestly run to prove to myself I can do it. Growing up a swimmer, running was never in our training. So as I have gotten older it has been a challenge to conquer the sport of running.
Favorite place to run:
Any where near the water. One of my favorite races is 75% over water and I LOVE it. It was a lifesaver at mile 18 of the RNR Nola when we got to run along the water, it saved me mentally.
Running gear you can not live without:
I am a huge Swiftwick sock and Mizuno shoe wearer. They are the only socks and shoes I can wear when training or racing.
When not running where would we find you?
In the pool! LOL. I am a HUGE swimmer, I recently was on a Ironman Relay team where I swam and I had the best time.
Favorite post race fuel:
Water and beer. Chocolate milk is at just about every finish line and it is great too.
