“One more mile, one more smile!!” I smile the entire run!
Why do you run?
I love running. Races bring people together and the running community is amazing! I had a Garfield Christmas book as a child. In it, Garfield learned about true compassion for the holidays. He said “It’s not the giving, it’s not the getting, it’s the loving.” And that’s what races are for me. Running is an act of self-love for me. I just get out there and do the best that I can do given the circumstances. I smile, I’m happy, and I enjoy every second of it. And that love expands to all my fellow runners, to my friends, to strangers cheering in the stands, to the volunteers at water stations, to my parents trying to figure out what the heck it is I’m doing. And that’s why I ALWAYS smile while I run!
Favorite place to run:
Anywhere outdoors in cities!! And races. I love running races with my friends! As an extrovert there is just an amazing quality associated with races that I can’t get over.
Running gear you can not live without:
Love my compression socks. And gu! I need my caffeinated gu for those long runs!
When not running where would we find you?
On the yoga mat! I am actually a yoga teacher! I need the yin to balance all my running yang! I’m currently earning my 500 hour training under the guidance of fellow runner and triathlete Sage Rountree! You’ll also find me at plays, concerts, and anything artsy. And, of course, eating good food with good friends!
Favorite post race fuel:
Bacon! (And Bloody Mary’s…is that bad?!)
Song you want to hear at the finish line:
Who doesn’t love a good round of “we are the champions?” ;) Though I’m quite partial to the Chariots of Fire theme song myself.
