“Keep moving forward.” Whether it’s the last mile, and you’re walking or running or skipping, or you’re struggling with some aspect of life (currently it’s me in a job search!), keep your head up and keep moving forward. So long as you’re still moving, the finish line IS in sight.
Why do you run?
I run to push my own limits – to find out what I’m really capable of, what drives me, and what pushes me beyond my point of comfortable. I run to stay fit, for stress relief, and for fun – life can’t always be serious and running has taught me that it’s okay to have fun while staying focused with your eye on the prize!
Favorite place to run:
I recently moved back to my hometown after not living here for about 10 years, so running around the city has been a great new adventure – discovering new things that have come about, or re-discovering places I’d forgotten about! Whether it’s your long-lost hometown or a new city, there’s no better way to explore somewhere than on foot!
Running gear you can not live without:
My Garmin. I’m (sometimes unfortunately) a little obsessed with tracking my data – but I actually make a conscious effort to run at least once a week without it, just as a refresher and a reminder that sometimes it’s just about getting out there – not what your last mile’s pace was.
When not running where would we find you?
Somewhere with my dog – at the park, hiking, the dog beach, or even on a drive! She truly is my fur-child and I try to keep her just as active as I am!
Favorite post race fuel:
A bottle of ice cold water, straight followed by ice cold chocolate milk. Mmmmm… there is nothing better!
