Why do you run?
I started running in 2011 as a way to maintain my weight loss from a size 16 to a size 8 . I signed up for my first half marathon the Rock ‘n’ Roll New Orleans Marathon in which I completed in February 2011. I find keeping the weight off is just as challenging as losing the weight to begin with but by changing it up, setting new goals and rewarding yourself keeps yourself motivated. Last October as I was turning 40 I decided after 10 Half Marathons it was time to start training for my first Full. I asked for my families support and I went after it. On 2-2-14 I crossed the finish line feeling EXHILARATED! I accomplished something I never thought possible. Running is my therapy!
Favorite place to run:
LSU Lakes. I do most of my training runs there. It is very peaceful there and I always see fellow runners out there.
Running gear you can not live without:
My ASICS GT-2000 version 2’s. I own every color! I need to start stocking up on version 3 since they were just released!
When not running where would we find you?
Spending time with my husband and daughter.
Favorite post race fuel:
Anything with CARBS! Banana nut bread, pancakes, muffins, bagels..did I mention carbs? lol!
