9th annual race returns to San Antonio; opens registration with special pricing
Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio Marathon & ½ Marathon will return the weekend of December 3 – 4, 2016. The race is back for its 9th year and will take runners on a tour of San Antonio’s historical landmarks. Registration is now open and specially priced at $79 for the marathon, $70 for the half marathon, $120 for the relay, $40 for the 10K and $35 for the 5K through Tuesday, February 2.
No city does Rock ‘n’ Roll like San Antonio,” said Megan Miller, Event Director. “This race has a distance for everyone from a 10K on Saturday to the marathon on Sunday so grab a friend, lace up those running shoes and join us in San Antonio in 2016.”
The Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio Marathon & ½ Marathon will take place on Sunday, December 4. The marathon, half marathon, relay and 5K will start and finish downtown and highlight the city’s scenic neighborhoods, historic areas and parks.
The electrifying energy of live, local bands, motivating cheer teams and thousands of encouraging spectators will entertain runners as they journey along the course. Upon finishing, runners are invited to relax and celebrate with family and friends at the post-race Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Concert Series.
The 10K will take place on Saturday, December 3 and will also start and finish downtown. Participants can take the “Remix Challenge” by running the 10K on Saturday and any distance Sunday to earn the coveted Remix Challenge medal in addition to each race’s finisher medals.
Race weekend kicks off with a free Health & Fitness Expo, where runners can find the latest in running technologies, fitness apparel, health and nutrition information and interactive displays. The Expo takes place at The Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center on Friday, December 2 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Expo is free and open to the public.
