Today, representatives of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series made a special contribution to the Friends of Balboa Park. This gift was part of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon’s larger 20 Year Anniversary Project where marathon staff will complete 20 community service projects in San Diego. Earlier this year, over 100 employees helped clean up parts of Balboa Park which has hosted the start line of the Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon since it’s inception. For the race in June, over 250 commemorative t-shirts were sold with proceeds from each shirt going to the Friends of Balboa Park.
“Supporting the overall mission of Friends of Balboa Park important to us,” said Natalia Mendez, Community Relations Manager for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series. “It feels great to give back to our community and this organization which has been our home and start line since the beginning of Rock ‘n’ Roll.”
The 2018 Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon will take place the weekend of June 2-3. For more information, visit RunRocknRoll.com
