Entertainment on the Course

Music every mile makes up the heart and “sole” of this event. Live San Diego bands will be performing a variety of music from alternative to classic rock, punk, funk and blues to jazz it up. The bands will keep the course pulsating as runners rock their way from start to finish!

The Halides

A 5 piece cover band specializing in modern rock and pop. The band was formed in 2013 for a one‐time performance during a special work‐related happy hour event. The one‐off performance was so well received by friends and co‐ works the band decided to solidify the project into a formal, continuously working band. The 5 members of The Halides come from an extremely diverse range of music styles and musical training, but they merge around a mutual desire to perform fun, high energy, and danceable modern Indie Rock and Pop.

Stone Horse

Based out of San Diego, California, the beginnings of what is now Stone Horse happened one fine summer day, after a chance meeting at Windansea Beach in 2009 when singer Danielle Spade joined up with guitar player and old friend Carlos Rodriguez. Influenced by the British and American rockers of the 70’s, the La Jolla High Alumni decided to put their musical heads together and create what later became known as Stone Horse in December 2012. The co-founders wrote songs reminiscent of their early 70’s British and American influences. A catchy, driving 10-song CD entitled “GRIT” ensued which was released in February of 2014.

Section 8

Each member of the group comes to the table with their own set of influences, which shows in their song selection and individual talents. With a repertoire ranging from bar favorites like Neil Diamond and Journey, to the funky grooves of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bruno Mars, and The Commodores (with a few AC/DC and Bon Jovi rock anthems thrown in), Section 8 has developed a set list that suits any audience’s stylistic appetite.
