At St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, Raul underwent treatment for a rare brain tumor called medulloblastoma. His treatment included chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
Raul’s mom, Elida, is thankful for the care and support they received at St. Jude. “At St. Jude, everything is for the kids,” said Elida. “St. Jude is a little piece of heaven. They allow us to focus solely on Raul’s health.”
Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Runners who fundraise for St. Jude while training for their race are called St. Jude Heroes. Heroes are helping kids, like Raul, who today is finished with treatment and returns to St. Jude for regular checkup appointments. When he’s not playing football or basketball, he likes to build puzzles and go to his speech therapy appointments at St. Jude.
