Spectator Guide - Getting Around Course
  • The start line is centrally located in the downtown area (at Bay St. and Bull St.) and close to most downtown hotels
    • After cheering your runner on at the start line walk south on Bull St. towards the following cross streets where you can view your runner in multiple areas:
      • Mile 5.5 (Bull St. & E. Harris Street, 0.5-mile/15-minute walk from the start line)
        • Fun Fact: You’re right next to the Sorrel-Weed Mansion, said to be the most haunted place in Savannah and a favorite stop on the Savannah Ghost Tours.
      • Mile 6 (Bull St. & E. Charlton Street, 300-foot/1-minute walk from Mile 5.5)
        • Fun Fact: You’re right next to SCAD (Savannah College of Art), which offers more degree programs and specializations than any other art and design university.
        • Mile 7-8 (Bull St. & E. Oglethorpe Ave, 0.2-mile walk/5-minute walk from Mile 6.6)
        • Fun Fact: You’re right next to the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace – celebrating 60 years of as an award-winning museum and historic site. Also known as the first Girl Scout headquarters.
    • Also, make sure to check out the following historic squares while you’re in the area:
      • Orleans Square
      • Chippewa Square
      • Colonial Park Cemetery
      • Lafayette Square
      • Madison Square
      • Monterey Square
    • Continue south on Bull St. until you hit the finish line venue at Forsyth Park (0.5-mile walk/15-minute walk from Miles 7-8) and make your way down Drayton St. to view your runner cross the finish line at Drayton St. and E. Park Ave.!
  • If you plan to travel outside of the downtown historic district to view your runner on course, we recommend driving and checking out our list of road closures here. Spectators can avoid delays by getting real-time traffic and road closure information using the free Waze App. Download it today to get directions to and from the race!
  • Map Out Your Cheer Stops
    • Just as a runner studies the course map, it is important for spectators to do as well. Talk with your runner: Where on course do they think they will need the most support? Planning ahead so your runner knows where to expect you gives them that added motivation to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Can you be at multiple points on course? Point-to-point courses require some additional planning, but it can be done, especially here in Savannah.

Designate A Post-Race Meeting Area

Family Reunion Area

After the race, reunite with runners inside the Family Reunion Area at the finish line festival and celebrate your runners accomplishments! With a large number of participants, and hundreds of spectators, it can be difficult to locate friends and family without a plan. It is highly recommended that you designate a meet-up location PRIOR to the race. The Family Reunion Area will have tall, clearly marked signs by letter (A-Z), so be sure to coordinate and plan to meet at a pre-determined letter!
