Meet St. Jude Patient Marley

Marley
2 years old
Alaska
Neuroblastoma

In 2016, Marley suddenly lost her ability to walk. When tests revealed that Marley’s inability to walk was due to a mass pressing down on her spinal cord. She was found to suffer from stage IV high-risk neuroblastoma. “I was always aware that these things happened to people, just not to my daughter. The sadness was definitely overwhelming,” said her mother. Marley and her mother were medevac’d to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® where she underwent chemotherapy and surgery to remove the mass.

Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. When she’s not busy playing games on her iPad, Marley likes to help her doctors at St. Jude. “Marley is getting really good at helping her doctors perform her medical care,” said her mother. “She likes to help them out during examinations.”
