Meet Ty from California – St. Jude Patient

It was during an egg hunt over Easter weekend 2015 that Ty’s parents realized something was wrong. Ty kept falling when he reached for eggs.Meet Ty from California – St. Jude Patient

Days later, scans revealed a mass on the lower part of Ty’s brain. The tumor was resected during surgery, and at the end of May, Ty and his family arrived at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® where his treatment includes 33 rounds of radiation therapy and four months of chemotherapy.

Runners who fundraise as St. Jude Heroes are helping kids like Ty, who loves cars and trucks, going to the zoo and roughhousing with his little brother. He also loves the family pets: three horses, two dogs, two goats and a pony.

“Ty loves to ride the pony. He’s a little country boy, a little cowboy,” said his mother.

St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. We won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.
