rungevity Rock ‘n’ Roll St. Louis Gears up for 2015 Race

Event will celebrate five-year anniversary the weekend of Oct. 17 – 18

 rungevity Rock ‘n’ Roll St. Louis Half Marathon presented by The Quinn Family Foundation will take over “The Lou” the weekend of October 17 – 18. This year, the annual fall race will celebrate a milestone anniversary of five-years of running.

“The fall season is a great time of year to run in St Louis and 2015 will be especially meaningful since we will celebrate the race’s five-year anniversary,” said Katie Holmes, Event Manager. “Registration is still open for this annual race and we encourage all runners to sign up and come rock with us in October and see all that St. Louis has to offer.”

The event will once again feature two days of running with the Rock ‘n’ Roll 5K on Saturday and half-marathon on Sunday, as well as the all new 10k on Sunday. Participants can take the “Remix Challenge” by running on Saturday and any distance on Sunday and earn the coveted Remix Challenge medal in addition to each race’s finisher medals.

rungevity Rock ‘n’ Roll St. Louis Half Marathon will start at Market Street west of Tucker Blvd. and finish at N. 15th Street at Chestnut. The course will provide incredible views of St. Louis’ signature Arch and will highlight the city’s scenic neighborhoods, historic areas and parks. The 5K will take place downtown in Kaufman Park.

The electrifying energy of live, local bands, motivating cheer teams and thousands of encouraging spectators will entertain runners as they journey along the course. Upon finishing, runners are invited to relax and celebrate with family and friends at the Toyota Concert Series post-race performance headlined by Sister Hazel.

Race weekend kicks off with a free Health & Fitness Expo, where runners can find the latest in running technologies, fitness apparel, health and nutrition information and interactive displays. The Expo takes place at America’s Center on Friday, October 16 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Expo is free and open to the public.
