Michelob ULTRA Rock ‘n’ Roll St. Louis Announces Fastball as Post-Race Headliner

Grammy nominated rock band to perform at finish line festival in downtown St. Louis; Annual fall road race returns the weekend of Oct. 14 – 15, 2017

Grammy Award nominated rock band, Fastball will headline the 2017 Michelob ULTRA Rock ‘n’ Roll St. Louis Half Marathon on Sunday, October 15. The band will perform for thousands of runners and spectators at the Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Concert Series event in downtown St. Louis. The finish line concert is free and open to the public.

“Fastball will be a great addition to our finish line festival,” said Lindsey King, Event Manager. From our live course entertainment to the post-race concert, runners can celebrate that 13.1-mile challenge from start to finish. There is still plenty of time to register for this event so lace up those running shoes and join us in St. Louis this fall.”

Fastball is a two-time Grammy Award nominated band that hails from Austin, Texas. In 1998, they released the certified platinum album, All The Pain Money Can Buy, which topped the Billboard charts and garnered appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Night with Conan O’Brien. In addition, to All The Pain Money Can Buy, the band has released five other studio albums, including the most recent Step into Light.

Michelob ULTRA Rock ‘n’ Roll St. Louis will feature two-days of running with the half marathon and 10K on Sunday, October 15 at 7:00 am and the 5K on Saturday, October 14 at 8:00 am. Participants can take the “Remix Challenge” by running both Saturday and Sunday to earn the coveted Remix Challenge medal in addition to each race’s finisher medals.

The half marathon and 10K will start on 9th St. and Market St. in downtown St. Louis. The course will provide incredible views of St. Louis’ signature Gateway Arch and will highlight the city’s scenic neighborhoods, historic areas and parks before finishing at Market St. east of 15th St. The 5K will also take place downtown starting at 13th and Market St. and finishing at 15th and Market St.

In true Rock ‘n’ Roll fashion, live bands, enthusiastic cheerleaders and spectators will line the race route, concluding with a celebratory finish line festival and post-race Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Concert Series.

Race weekend kicks off with a free Health & Fitness Expo, where runners can find the latest in running technologies, fitness apparel, health and nutrition information and interactive displays. The expo will take place on Friday, October 13 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The expo is free and open to the public.
