Virginia Legends Walk
Not once but twice will you have the opportunity to honor some of Virginia’s greatest contributors as you run the half marathon course. Return after the race to learn more about the individual inductees.
Naval Aviation Monument
See the bronze monuments representing three eras of naval aviation and learn about American military history in this moving tribute.
Lake Holly is a small, man-made lake just inland from the beach. Be entertained by the myriad of skiers and recreational water sports-goers as you pace down 6th St and onto Pacific Avenue.
Look down the bridge as you run along Pacific Avenue and you will see Lake Rudee – home to yachts, fishing boats, paddle boarders and the Marina District. On a lucky day you may even catch a glimpse of Captain Jack’s pirate ship.
General Booth Boulevard
Enjoy the tree lined trip along General Booth Boulevard with its wide roadway and green views.
Red Wing Lake Golf Course
Circle back along Prosperity Road and past Redwing Lake Golf Course where you may see a golfer tee off right in front of you.
Whether taking part in the Military Challenge or not, you’ll appreciate winding through the Military Reservation of Camp Pendleton and back towards the Atlantic Ocean for the home stretch.
Take in the sights of the never-ending blue water as you head towards the finish. Seeing the vast ocean will be motivation that takes you all the way to the finish and possibly beyond for a cool dip in the water.
Virginia Beach Boardwalk
Take your final promenade along the colorful boardwalk as you celebrate the wonders of Virginia Beach and the 15th time that the half marathon will end along the boardwalk. Get ready to party – you’ll have earned it!
