Thousands of runners hit the Virginia Beach oceanfront on Labor Day weekend for the 17th annual Rock ‘n’ Roll Virginia Beach Half Marathon. Jeffrey Eggleston, 32, Boulder, Colorado breaks the tape in one hour, five minutes, and 55 seconds during the Rock ‘n’ Roll Virginia Beach Half Marathon. 20-year-old Mao Ichiyama of Japan finished first-place in the women’s division in a personal best 1:13:50. Thousands of runners and spectators were treated to a concert on the beach featuring Sister Hazel following the Rock ‘n’ Roll Virginia Beach Half Marathon. The event is held in conjunction with the American Music Festival, which has provided participants and their families with even more chances to listen to live music while soaking in the sun and playing in the surf.
