Did you know that you have access to 3 days of Music at the American Music Festival? Don’t miss out on the biggest Beach Bash of the Summer! All participants in the half marathon will receive free entry to the AMF concerts throughout the weekend. If you run the 5k, you can enjoy the Sunday night concert at no cost!

No other Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon event can offer this unique perk over the event weekend.

AMF is one of the nation’s longest running and largest annual outdoor oceanfront music events featuring dozens of international recording acts. All performances take place along the oceanfront at the 5th Street Main Stage on the Beach and at 17th Street Park, 24th Street Park and 31st Street Park stages.

2019 Headliners include:

Lee Brice performing Friday evening, 311 performing Saturday evening and +Live+ with special guest Dashboard Confessional performing Sunday evening. Vertical Horizon, Cracker, Parmalee, Blind Boys of Alabama, Larkin Poe, Camper Van Beethoven, William Michael Morgan and Tenille Arts are featured performers during the 5-day Festival. The American Music Festival will feature four major headline bands on the oceanfront 5th Street Main Stage Aug. 30 - Sept. 1 in 2019.

The sounds of rock, jazz, country, R&B, and more flood the Virginia Beach oceanfront for three sun-filled days over Labor Day Weekend at the Chartway Federal Credit Union American Music Festival. One of the largest outdoor music events on the East Coast, the Chartway Federal Credit Union American Music Festival brings together national, regional, and local acts to play on a gigantic stage erected on the beach at 5th Street, as well as stages in all the parks along the boardwalk.  Just about every music genre is included, proving that there truly is “something for everyone."

Performers in 2018 included Ziggy Marley, GooGoo Dolls, ZZ Top, Molly Hatchet, Eve 6, Plain White T’s, and "Cherry Poppin’ Daddies."


Bands on Course

Music makes up the heart and “sole” of this event. Runners will enjoy a variety of music from alternative, classic and punk rock to blues, jazz and soul along the race course. Music and entertainment set the tempo for this running party, where runners and spectators alike will be “dancin’ in the streets” to these mini-concerts.

Half Marathon runners can expect 13.1 miles jam packed with entertainment!  Not only can we promise music every mile, we can you’ll never go far without music, entertainment, or crowds cheering you on!
