At St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, Luigi’s treatment for a rare brain tumor called medulloblastoma included proton therapy and chemotherapy.

St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.

“Here at St. Jude, the main focus is the children and curing them,” Luigi’s mom said. “We felt there was more individual attention here. It’s made it easier for us and for Luigi.” Luigi loves music, especially Country, and he loves to dance. He’s also a budding artist who likes to create robot costumes out of paper. “He’s very creative, outgoing and friendly,” said his dad. Luigi is finished with treatment and returns to St. Jude for regular scans.

Runners who fundraise for St. Jude while training for their race are called St. Jude Heroes, and they’re helping kids, like Luigi. The funds raised by Heroes help ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
