Santiago postponement FAQs
Why did you postpone - again?
After extensive meetings with the respective authorities, business partners and organizational teams, we have decided to postpone the 2019 Adidas Rock 'n' Roll Santiago Half Marathon scheduled for 9 November.
Our athletes expect and deserve a safe, unforgettable, and positive musically themed running event experience. The current situation in Santiago, Chile does not allow for the standards of safety or quality to be guaranteed.
We understand the disappointment this may cause and while a decision like this is never easy, it was made with the best interest of our participants, volunteers, local community and event team in mind.
I signed a waiver, it should be my choice whether I want to run or not!
As you can imagine, much goes into the preparation of the Adidas Rock ‘n’ Roll Santiago Half Marathon. Our team works in collaboration with authorities, partners, volunteers and the community to plan, set up and host the race. At no time do we wish to jeopardize the safety of any of our participants, nor the stakeholders that contribute to your race day experience, so with these considerations in mind, the difficult decision was made to postpone the race for all participants.
What are my options as a registered participant?
All participants should have received an email explaining what options are available to them. If you were due to participate in this event your registration will automatically be transferred to the new date, 14 March, 2020. What about the Heavy Medal I was supposed to earn?
