On Saturday morning, runners took flight at the United Airlines Rock ‘n’ Roll Washington DC Marathon & ½ Marathon this weekend. With a renewed focus on the core pillars of bringing fun to the run with great music in a community environment, runners of all athletic levels enjoyed the sights and sounds of our nation’s capital.
Some of Washington DC’s best live bands performed on improved band stages along the route and participants ran through neighborhoods lined with energetic and encouraging spectators. Participants moved along to more music than ever with all new mile-markers that played music.
The musically themed road race concluded with a headlining performance by Vintage Trouble at the Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Concert Series, getting runners and their families to their feet in celebration of the days accomplishments.
What a day, DC! Ann takes us through some of her favorite moments from United Airlines #RnRDC, including the sights of the course, the sounds of the bands that rocked, and the reflective and moving wear blue Mile.
When St Jude Hero Leticia Barr toed the Start Line of 2018 United Airlines Rock ‘n’ Roll DC, she was running for something much bigger than herself. That’s Leticia. That’s Rock ‘n’ Roll.
