EDP and the Rock 'n' Roll Madrid Marathon & ½ share much more than the name.

Because during these four years of joint travel, both entities have worked unanimously to create and disseminate initiatives that promote popular sports. And so it will continue for three more years.

Therefore, and under the premise of reinforcing this commitment, the energy company EDP and the Rock 'n' Roll Madrid Marathon & ½ have renewed their sponsorship agreement for the next three editions. That is to say, EDP will continue to be the name title sponsor of the EDP Rock 'n' Roll Madrid Marathon & ½ and will continue to share energy, projects and pretensions until 2021.

The collaboration agreement has been signed in Madrid by the general corporate and commercial director of EDP Spain, Javier Sáenz de Jubera, and the general director of the race, Pedro Rumbao. Both have emphasized the importance of energy in the world of sport, the need to continue supporting initiatives that bring it closer to all people and with which popular runners can feel identified.

Likewise, they have also highlighted the importance of the support of a sponsor such as EDP, one of the main energy operators in Spain, for the race, at the same time that it promotes EDP's commitment to the Spanish energy market, where more of three million people already trust in their supply of electricity, gas and services.

This agreement further reinforces the closeness of EDP with the riders, who will benefit from important advantages, such as the possibility of getting free dials for the race.

Share your energy, run without barriers

In the last edition of the EDP Rock 'n' Roll Madrid Marathon & ½, which was held on April 22, 2018 and hosted more than 35,500 participants, the EDP energy returned to be the protagonist of a authentic sports party. Under his "Share Your Energy" initiative, he managed to unite ten couples of blind or severely impaired people who were fans of running with runners who guided them in this test. A very special experience for both people, who share energy and dreams.
