ENTERTAINMENT ON THE COURSE

Live music on course makes up the heart and “sole” of this event. Live Savannah bands will be performing a variety of music from alternative to classic rock, punk, funk and blues to jazz it up. The bands will keep the course pulsating as runners rock their way from start to finish!

Based in Washington D.C., Singer-Songwriter, Mike Richards has toured the country playing from coast to coast in numerous festivals, including Vans Warped Tour and the Atlantic City Beer Festival. He has performed alongside the likes of Dropkick Murphy and Streetlight Manifesto. Mike is currently in the studio recording 5 of his new acoustic alternative rock songs on a self-titled EP. He is looking forward to his EP release late this summer!

A musical group of City employees will take to the stage in tomorrow's Rock and Roll Marathon. Six City employees have formed a rock ‘n roll band and volunteered their time and talents as one of the many groups scheduled to play along the marathon route to entertain spectators and cheer on participants.

The band members represent a cross-section of City departments, and include: Mark Anderegg (lead guitar) of the Stormwater Department, Harry Campbell (vocals and rhythm guitar) of the Information Technology Department, Bernell Clark (vocals) of the Water Department, Darryl Kershaw (drums) of the Stormwater Department, David Keating (bass guitar) of the Real Property Services Department and Vivian Gharakhani (tambourine) of the Benefits Department.

Anderegg, a veteran performer who has participated in several bands, was the primary organizer of the City band and looks forward to tomorrow's performance.  “It is a blast to be in one of the bands, and it always amazes me how many City Employees step up and get involved in this event. We are really looking forward to playing it this year,” said Anderegg.

His other current project, "Sins of Godless Men" (formerly known as "Howler") has been a staple in the local music scene for the past 5 years. On keyboard, Phillip Price, a multi-talented instrumentalist, provides fullness and layered melodies to the band’s sound. Last, but not least, surf/punk drummer and professional belly dancer, Nicole Edge, completes the ensemble.
