HEADLINER ACT AT THE TOYOTA ROCK 'N' ROLL CONCERT SERIES
Introducing the Old 97’s, your 2018 St. Jude Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle Marathon & 1/2 Marathon Toyota Concert Series Headliner!
Originating from Dallas twenty years ago, the Old 97’s are known for their rootsy and country-influenced songwriting with a punk rock energy and delivery. With a slew of albums being released since their original, Too Far to Care, the band has been hailed by Rolling Stone as “four Texans raised on the Beatles and Johnny Cash in equal measures, whose shiny melodies, and fatalistic character studies, do their forefathers proud.”
Check out a few of their hits below and get ready to jam out at the Space Needle with the Old 97’s!
Opening Act: Harrison B
Harrison B fronts a modern power-trio out of Seattle, seaming the Blues through a bedrock of genres, including Indie Rock & RnB. The group prides themselves on the vibrant and inspiring energy of their live set, bringing the triumph of their sound with them on stages ranging from NBC’s The Voice to music festivals, universities, and local clubs across the continent, including Alaska.
Closing Act: Doctorfunk
Doctorfunk has been entertaining crowds across the Pacific Northwest for over 20 years with their modern take on the classic sound of the R&B / Funk / Soul horn band. Doctorfunk is a 10-piece band with a 5-piece horn section playing both original and cover material in the style of bands such as Tower of Power, James Brown, Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder, and the Average White Band. While rooted in funk and soul, you’ll also hear the influence of rock, jazz, and even hip-hop in some of their grooves and extended jams.
