Rock 'n' Roll Liverpool Marathon on May 26, 2019 is one of two events in the UK where athletes can qualify for the Abbott World Marathon Majors Wanda Age Group World Championships, being held as part of the Virgin Money London Marathon in 2020.

The Abbott World Marathon Majors (AbbottWMM) Wanda Age Group World Rankings gives Rock 'n' Roll Liverpool runners the opportunity to represent their countries with pride and passion by participating in this race-within-a-race format, within the prestigious Virgin Money London Marathon.

Rock 'n' Roll Liverpool Marathon is one of fifty qualifying races globally.

Participants in AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Ranking qualifying races, such as Rock 'n' Roll Liverpool Marathon, will earn points according to their age, time and gender. The qualifying system will give runners a chance to perform their very best in Liverpool and gain recognition like never before.

The course will play host to thousands of athletes who will battle it out on the same streets walked by John, Paul, George and Ringo, collectively known as The Beatles, who originated in Liverpool in 1960. The race course takes in some of the best-known sights in the United Kingdom, including The Cavern Club and The Royal Albert Dock, as well as Anfield and Goodison Park, homes to Liverpool Football Club and Everton Football Club, respectively.

Twenty-three Wanda/IRONMAN-produced marathon events will be part of the AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Rankings for the season. This includes the Rock ‘n Roll marathons in Madrid, Bordeaux and multiple cities across the United States, the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon and the Chengdu Panda Marathon. Other marathons in the series include geographical representation from around the world, such as Helsinki, Moscow, Amsterdam, Mumbai, Los Angeles, Toronto, Mexico City and many more!
