During a Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series event, you may notice some interesting things on course. This can include alternating race routes, volunteers and staff members making adjustments to change the course for runners, or even a bus box! Have no fear, this is done on purpose.

This on-course adjustment can happen as often as every 90 seconds. While runners are rocking the course, there are buses, city vehicles and cars that need to get through. To prevent backup of the vehicles waiting, the course is rerouted to let them through. A bus box allows traffic to cross the course in a way that does NOT affect the runner experience. Don’t worry — you are still running the same distance! Now you know!
