Information about road closures for the St. Jude Rock ‘n’ Roll Nashville Marathon & 1/2 Marathon and 5k on Saturday, April 29, for the new one mile race on Thursday, April 27, and for KiDS ROCK on Sunday, April 30, follow.  All information is subject to change.

ALERT!  TIME CHANGE FOR ROAD CLOSURES!

With temperatures expected in the high 80s and high humidity levels, all Saturday races will begin 30 minutes early.  All roads, except those downtown, will close 15 minutes earlier than previously planned. See the road closure link below for a street by street list of new closure times.  And, remember, this means streets will re-open earlier too!

Be Aware. Plan Ahead

Road Closures on Saturday, April 29 – REVISED FOR EARLY START

Runners start downtown on Broadway at 8th Avenue and finish at Nissan Stadium. Course highlights include Music Row, Belmont Boulevard, 12 South, the Gulch, Metrocenter, Bicentennial Mall, East Nashville and Shelby Park.

Please review the course map, the REVISED road closure grid based on early start time due to weather conditions,  and the Road Closure Notice  for more information. Residents and businesses located near the race course are urged to plan ahad and  be aware of road closure schedules and alternate access routes.

Drivers are encouraged to adjhttp://www.runrocknroll.com/nashville/wp-content/sites/10/2015/04/nash17-roadclosuregrid-4.pdfust travel time within and around the race course. The races begin at 6:45 am. Most road closures and detours along the routes will be in effect between 6:00 am and 1:30 pm on Saturday. At 6:00 am, police and event personnel will implement a soft closure along the entire race course.

Streets reopen on a rolling basis when the last participant passes and course support materials are removed. Streets along the earlier miles of the route open earlier than roads along the end of the route.  At most points along the course, pedestrians and bicyclists may cross the course during safe gaps in runners, at the discretion of traffic officers.

Road Closures on Sunday, April 30 for KiDS ROCK

Please also plan ahead for road closures in downtown Nashville on Sunday, April 30. From 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the following streets will be closed for the ING KiDS Rock race. At most points along the course, pedestrians and bicyclists may cross the course during safe gaps in runners. Please follow the discretion of a traffic controller if present

  • Union Street from  3rd Avenue North to the Woodland Street Bridge
  • Woodland Street from the Bridge to Interstate Drive

Alternate Access Routes

Public Transportation Information

On Saturday, April 29, several MTA bus routes will be on detour.  For more details, visit www.nashvillemta.org or contact the Metropolitan Transit Authority office at (615) 862-5950.

No Parking

Street parking will be TEMPORARILY restricted along the race route. Most no parking zones are between Friday, April 28 at 10:00 pm  and Saturday, April 29 at 2:30 pm.  On several downtown streets no parking begins at 8:00am on Friday, April 28 and ends at 9:00am on Saturday, April 29. Please park your vehicles in an alternate location during these times. By law, vehicles in violation of posted signs will be ticketed and towed at the owners’ expense.
