Race weekend is around the corner, start planning now.

MARCH 14, 2022

Capitol View is a multi-use urban district located in the heart of downtown Nashville, including offices, retail shops, restaurants, multi-family residential, a hotel, a spacious dog park, and an urban activity park with a trailhead for the Nashville Greenway. It is the ideal place to enjoy your marathon weekend.

At Capitol View, you can prepare for race day by fueling at our variety of restaurant options: POKÉWORKS, Condado Tacos, Central BBQ, and M.L. Rose. Spend time exploring our many retailers, and take a moment to relax with a Clean Juice smoothie in our open green spaces.

Thursday: Arrive and Expo

To kick off the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Weekend, get settled in Nashville when you arrive. If you are still looking for a place to stay, check out the Hampton Inn & Suites at Capitol View which offers everything from free parking to a rooftop pool and bar (locals love it, too!). The hotel is perfectly situated a mile away from Ryman Auditorium, Bridgestone Arena, and the National Museum of African American Music and a 15-minute walk to Broadway.

Next, head over to the Music City Center to pick up your bib and race packet and check out our expo booth. There you will get a sneak peek of some of our amazing tenants, and some free goodies as well.

Friday Explore and Relax

The day before your race is an important day. The expo floor opens a couple of hours earlier on Friday, so grab some coffee at the Starbucks on the corner of Dr. M.L.K. Jr Blvd. When you arrive at the expo center, make sure to take advantage of all the great vendors and grab any goodies you missed on Thursday. Once you are finished, head back to Capitol View, grab a bite to eat at one of our restaurant options and get ready to explore a mixture of both city culture and outdoor adventure - all while staying loose and ready for your big race!

Next, take a shopping stroll along 11th Avenue, known for its murals and chic boutiques. Enjoy a complimentary rosé at Vici, the boot wall at L.A Green, gift boxes full of Nashville's best brands at Sercy + Co. and accessories at SVM Boutique. You can walk, bike, or take an electric scooter throughout the district. And don’t forget to tag us on all the pictures you take when you’re here @CapitolViewNashville. We have plenty of photo-worthy murals for you to check out.

To end your afternoon, you’ll want to make your way to Frankie Pierce Park named after the late and influential African-American suffrage movement leader Juno Frankie Pierce. The 2.5-acre park features sand volleyball, a children's playground, a dog park and a yoga lawn. The park is a trailhead for the Gulch Greenway, completing a link in the system and connecting Capitol View to a system of over 190 miles of biking and running trails throughout the county. As you relax in the park preparing for tomorrow, remind yourself of all your hard work. You are ready for race day!

On your way back, don’t forget to stop by Publix and get all your race day snacks and protein bars. It's not just carbohydrates that are important after the race and the overall recovery process. Combine some protein to help your muscles repair and adapt. Above all else, enjoy your day. Be incredibly proud of all your hard work. Running a marathon is an incredible experience and one that you will never forget…and you just happen to be running it in one of the greatest cities in the world.
